ERIP Payment
Integration

ERIP (Единое расчётное и информационное пространство) is Belarus's national payment system, run through the National Bank — effectively the default way people in the country pay bills and pay merchants. We walk through it step by step: what you sign with the bank, how long approval takes, what happens on the website's side at the moment of payment, and why orders sometimes get stuck showing unpaid even when the money is already sitting in the account.

Why it matters

In Belarus, a checkout without ERIP loses customers.

Card acquiring covers impulse purchases paid by card. ERIP covers everything else: invoice payments, payments from a corporate account, and customers who simply won't enter a card online. For a store operating in Belarus, ERIP isn't an alternative to card acquiring — it's the other half of the same job.

  • ERIP is a payment method Belarusians already know — people pay straight from their online banking app
  • Works for legal entities and sole proprietors who need a non-cash payment and the accounting documents to go with it
  • Doesn't require the customer to enter card details on your site
  • Available anywhere a card doesn't work: a bank teller, a self-service kiosk, the post office
  • For part of the audience, not having ERIP is a reason to buy from a competitor instead

How it works

Four steps from application to your first payment

01
Sign with a bank
You connect through the bank where you hold your account, or through a payment aggregator. The bank checks your company and its line of business, then forwards the application to the ERIP operator.
02
Get listed in the ERIP directory
ERIP organizes every registered payee into a shared directory — its "service tree." Your listing gets its own code there, and that's exactly what the customer searches for in their banking app, so it's worth agreeing on the name and category ahead of time.
03
Integrate the website
The website generates an order number, hands the customer the service code and amount, and then receives payment confirmation back. The order flips to "paid" without a manager touching it.
04
Test payments, then launch
We run through the full cycle: payment, crediting, refund, a disputed case. Only after that do we turn on live payments on the production site.

Development isn't what eats up the time — bank-side approval is: gathering documents, vetting the company, registering the service. The technical part takes a handful of days for a typical store; the administrative part usually takes several weeks. Plan your sales launch date around the ERIP approval, not around when the website itself is ready.

What we need from you

It all comes down to paperwork, not code.

  • A legal entity or sole proprietor with an account at a Belarusian bank
  • An approved line of business — that's what the bank bases its decision on
  • A description of your service and the section of the ERIP directory where customers will look for you
  • A working website with a cart and checkout flow
  • A contact person who can sign documents at the bank

ERIP or card acquiring

The right answer is almost always both.

ERIP Card acquiring Invoice payment Installments Refunds Webhooks
  • ERIP. Payment from an online banking app using the service code. Fees are usually lower; crediting isn't instant
  • Card acquiring. Card payment right on the site, in a single screen. Higher conversion for impulse purchases
  • For businesses. ERIP and invoice payment cover non-cash transfers; card acquiring doesn't help here
  • Refunds. Card refunds are easier to automate; ERIP refunds usually go through accounting
  • Fees. Both systems take a percentage of each transaction — worth calculating in advance if your margin is thin

What breaks most often

The mistakes that make payments disappear

01
The order never flips to "paid"
The website doesn't process the confirmation from ERIP, so a manager reconciles payments by hand against the bank statement. Within a month, someone will miss a paid order.
02
Order numbers aren't unique
If the numbering resets or duplicates, a payment gets attached to the wrong order. Untangling that has to happen by hand, after the fact.
03
No handling for a duplicate payment
A customer pays twice — for example, without waiting for the first payment to clear. Without a check, the website creates two paid orders instead of one order plus a refund.
04
The amount changes after the code is issued
A discount or a shipping recalculation happens after the customer already has the payment code. The money comes in at a different amount, and the order gets stuck in limbo.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can an individual (not a registered business) connect ERIP?

No. You need a registered business entity — a legal entity or a sole proprietor with an account at a Belarusian bank. That's a requirement of the system itself; there's no way around it from the website's side.

How long does it take to connect ERIP?

The technical part takes a few days for a typical store. The administrative part usually takes several weeks, and that depends on the bank's speed, not ours: vetting the company, approving the line of business, and registering the service in the ERIP directory.

What's the fee?

The fee is set by the bank or payment aggregator you connect through, and it depends on your turnover and line of business. It's worth requesting exact terms from two or three banks at once — the spread can be significant.

Does the money arrive instantly?

No, crediting to your bank account takes time under the bank's own rules. But the website gets payment confirmation right away, so you can move the order into fulfillment without waiting for the money to actually land.

Do we need ERIP if we already accept card payments?

For a store operating in Belarus, usually yes. Card acquiring covers impulse purchases; ERIP covers payment from online banking, payment by legal entities, and customers who simply refuse to enter a card online.

What if the website is already built, and not by you?

We connect to what's already there. We look at how checkout and order numbering work, then add the handling for confirmations and statuses. You don't need to rebuild the whole website just for payments.
